How we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Focs Connect app and our services.

01 Who we are

Focs Maldives Pvt Ltd ("Focs Maldives", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Focs Connect mobile application (the "App") and related internet, television, and marketplace services in the Maldives. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the App, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

02 Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — your name, email address, and phone number when you register or sign in (including via Google Sign-In).
  • Service account information — your Medianet account number, ID card number, island, and delivery address when you link a service account.
  • Payment receipts — images of bank transfer receipts you upload to confirm recharges or purchases. We do not collect or store card numbers.
  • Marketplace content — listings, item photos, descriptions, prices, and the contact number you choose to display.
  • Support messages — the content of any support requests you submit.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data — basic device information and in-app activity used to improve the App and diagnose problems.
  • Push notification tokens — a device token so we can send you notifications about your account, orders, and offers.
  • Service status data — your TV/internet package, wallet balance, and expiry, retrieved from Medianet to display your account status.
We collect only what we need to operate your account and provide the services you request. We do not sell your personal information.

03 How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
  • Link and display your Medianet service account status, balance, and package.
  • Process recharges and shop orders, and verify uploaded payment receipts.
  • Operate the community marketplace and connect buyers with sellers.
  • Send service notifications, order updates, expiry reminders, and offers.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

04 How we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run our services:

  • With Medianet — your account number and island are used to retrieve and update your service status.
  • With other marketplace users — when you post a listing, the contact details you choose to display are visible to buyers.
  • With service providers — trusted vendors who host our infrastructure and deliver notifications (see Section 5).
  • For legal reasons — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers for cross-app tracking.

06 Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data as described in Section 8, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, transaction records) by law.

07 Your rights & choices

  • Access & update — view and edit your profile details in the App at any time.
  • Notifications — turn off push notifications in your device settings.
  • Marketplace — edit or remove your listings whenever you like.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and data (see Section 8).

08 Account & data deletion

You can delete your account directly in the App: open Profile → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently removes your profile, linked service accounts, marketplace listings, and associated personal data from our systems.

You can also request deletion by emailing info@focsmaldives.com from your registered email address, or visit our account deletion page for instructions.

Some records may be retained for a limited period where required by law (for example, financial transaction records) or to prevent fraud, after which they are securely deleted.

09 Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and continually improve our safeguards.

10 Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
